City architect in Vejle Kommune:

"Research shows that daylight and green surroundings have a healing effect on humans. At Vejle's new psychiatric hospital, the generous use of daylight and green courtyards will undoubtedly contribute to the same. On the whole, architecture is an important part of creating good physical settings for people with difficulties. By dividing the building into small units and using natural materials, the architects have succeeded in creating a building that is experienced as both caring and domestic. It requires a special empathy and understanding of the people who will be using the house, and we would like to commend that effort".
