Gopher Creek

Through the fund Copenhagen Infrastructure II (CI II), Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) has provided a USD 65m mezzanine loan to finance the onshore wind farm Gopher Creek located in Scurry County, Texas.

The Gopher Creek wind farm consists of 79 V116-2.0 MW Vestas turbines and will have a capacity of 158 MW – sufficient to generate power corresponding to the electricity consumption of approximately 64,000 households a year. The wind farm is expected to commence commercial operations in the third quarter of 2019.

Gopher Creek is the second wind park CIP has invested in together with Terna Energy. The first in 2016 was Fluvanna, an adjacent 155 MW onshore wind project. Fluvanna commence commercial operations in December 2017.

PensionDanmark is one of the 19 Danish and international institutional investors behind the fund CI II.
