    Thursday evening PensionDanmark was named pension fund of the year in Denmark – and Europe.

    PensionDanmark to invest 800 million EUR in new infrastructure fund

    PensionDanmark has taken the initiative to establish a new infrastructure fund managed by Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners, a newly established team of former employees from Dong Energy. PensionDanmark will be the only investor in the new fund, and has made a EUR 800 million investment commitment, which over the coming 3 to 4 years will be invested in infrastructure in Europe and North America.

    DKK 250 million from PensionDanmark for new Danish export order

    Yet another Danish export order has been secured thanks to PensionDanmark's partnership with EKF (Denmark's Export Credit Agency). The order is for the export of 72 Vestas wind turbines for an offshore wind farm project in Belgium, Northwind, for which the Danish company Bladt Industries is another supplier of equipment and services. PensionDanmark contributes funding of DKK 260 million.

    PensionDanmark invests 750 million USD in bank loans

    PensionDanmark has today entered into an agreement with J.P. Morgan Asset Management (JPM), where JPM on behalf of PensionDanmark will acquire and manage a portfolio of senior secured infrastructure loans in Europe, the United States and Canada. The portfolio will consist of secondary loans acquired from a number of project finance banks. The size of the mandate is 750 million USD, which is expected to be invested within the next 12 months. The first transaction, in which PensionDanmark buys a portfolio from Bank of Ireland consisting of UK Infrastructure Project Finance loans with total commitments of approximately 350 million USD at a price of around 83% of the principal, has already been closed.
