PensionDanmark has once again received international acknowledgement for its investments at the IP Real Estate Global Awards held Tuesday evening in Copenhagen, winning in the category "Best Infrastructure Strategy". This marks the second win in two years, as PensionDanmark also received the award in 2014.
IP is an abbreviation for Investment & Pension, which is an internationally esteemed forum for the entire pension sector.
"We aim to invest 20 per cent of total assets in stable alternatives such as infrastructure and real estate in order to ensure stable and attractive returns for our members, and we are well on our way – even though assets under management are growing significantly," says CEO Torben Möger Pedersen, PensionDanmark, adding:
"This award is an accolade to our skilled investment team and to Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners, who we have collaborated with since 2012 on several large infrastructure projects in for instance the UK."
In recent years, PensionDanmark's investments in infrastructure have been expanded with new investments in biomass power plants in the UK and in the offshore grid connection Dolwin 3, which will be transmitting power to the mainland Germany from several wind farms in the North Sea.
PensionDanmark's real estate portfolio has been expanded with the addition of three large properties tenanted by KMD and with headquarters for Danish companies MT Højgaard, NCC, Alfa Laval and Semco Maritime.
