PensionDanmark awarded as Nordic Real Estate Investor of the Year

On Tuesday night, PensionDanmark won an award for its real estate investments at a large investor conference in Munich.

PensionDanmark won the award for its investments in real estate at the annual conference for pension funds and other institutional investors ”IPE Real Estate Global Conference & Awards” which took place in Munich on Tuesday night.

PensionDanmark won in the category “Nordic Real Estate Investor of the Year”.

”We are very proud of receiving this award.  We are continually expanding our real estate investments in order to provide our members with good, stable and long-term return well above the yield on bonds. In all of our real estate investments, we focus on sustainability, because it benefits us as an investor, our tenants, the climate and the environment. The award is a recognition of that work”, says Torben Möger Pedersen, CEO at PensionDanmark.

PensionDanmark has invested approximately 16 billion DKK in property, with 5 billion more in the pipeline. PensionDanmark focusses on investing in existing property and development of new business and residential properties, hotel and retail, as well as PPP construction projects.

Since 2012, PensionDanmark’s new constructions have been sustainability certified. Most recently, the headquarters of Semco Maritime in Esbjerg was DGNB certified with “gold”, in the beginning of 2017.

At the conference, PensionDanmark was also nominated in the categories ”Best Sustainable Strategy”, ”Portfolio Construction”, ”Best Alternative Strategy”, ”Large Real Estate Investor of the Year” and ”Real Assets & Infrastructure Investor of the Year” – and therefore was one of the investors nominated in the most categories at the conference.
