Regular premiums, paid by employees in the 24.700 companies whose employees have their pension plan with PensionDanmark, reached DKK 6 billion in 1st half year 2017 – 1.9 per cent more than same half year in 2017.
PensionDanmark yielded investment returns of DKK 1.1 billion before tax. This ensures a 40-year old member a return of 0.5 per cent and a 65-year old member a return of 0.6 per cent. The highest contributions to the total investment return came from real estate (4.4 per cent), private equity (4.2 per cent) and infrastructure (2.7 per cent). As of end of July 2018, the year to date investment return reached 2.3 per cent for a 40-year old member and 1.5 per cent for a 65-year old member.
Benefits paid to the members amounted to DKK 4.2 billion – 0.2 billion more than same period in 2017 primarily due to higher payouts to old age pensioners and transfers due to job changes.
Administrative costs amounted to DKK 118 million before taxes. In proportion to total savings it amounted to 0.06 per cent. which is on level with 1st half year 2017.
“The half year has been challenging with moderate investments returns close to zero for both equity and bonds alongside with substantial fluctuations in especially share prices. In that perspective, PensionDanmark has achieved satisfying results. It is also worth noting, that the 1.9 per cent increase in the running premiums is indicating a continued positive development in the employment for our members,” says CEP Torben Möger Pedersen, PensionDanmark.
